What the app does

  • Genograms with the usual symbols: squares, circles, deceased, index person, ages.
  • Build around a person: add a partner, parents, sons and daughters in one tap.
  • Couple lines (married, engaged, living together, separated, divorced) and emotional lines.
  • Ecomaps: the family in the centre, systems around it, with strong, weak and stressful bonds.
  • Export PDF or PNG and share them with any app on your device.
  • English and Spanish.

Price

The app is free for genograms of up to 15 people and for ecomaps. Free exports carry a light genogramtool.com watermark. A one-time purchase in Google Play (Pro) removes the people limit and the watermark. There is no subscription. The website's Pro plans and the app's Pro purchase are separate.

Privacy policy for the Genogram Maker app

This section covers the Android app “Genogram Maker” (package com.genogramtool.genogram), published by the team behind GenogramTool. The website has its own privacy policy.

What stays on your device

Everything you put into a genogram or an ecomap (names, years, notes, relationships) is stored only on your device, inside the app. The app has no account and no sync, and we have no server for it. We never receive your genograms.

When data leaves your device

  • When you export. A PDF or PNG goes to the app you pick in the share sheet (for example email or a file app). What happens after that is up to you and that app.
  • Purchases. Payments are handled by Google Play. We use RevenueCat to check whether you bought Pro. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID, your purchase history and basic device data (such as the app version and country). It does not receive your genograms. The app shows no ads, has no analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not use the advertising ID.

Deleting your data (Genogram Maker app)

Genograms and ecomaps: they exist only on your device. Delete one from its ⋮ menu in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all of them. We hold no copy, so there is nothing else to delete. Files you already exported stay wherever you saved or sent them.

Purchase records: to have the purchase data held by RevenueCat (random app user ID, purchase history, app version, country) deleted:

  1. Email team@genogramtool.com with the subject “Genogram Maker app data deletion”.
  2. Include the Google Play order number of your purchase (from your Google Play receipt email).
  3. We delete the matching records within 30 days and reply to confirm.

Google keeps its own record of the payment under Google's policies. Deleting the purchase record means a later “Restore purchase” may no longer find it.

Sensitive information

Genograms often hold health and family details. Only record information you are allowed to handle, and protect your device with a screen lock. See our disclaimer.

Children

The app is meant for adults (students, counsellors, social workers, families). It is not directed to children.
